Car pool’ commuter nabbed with mannequin

ISLANDIA, N.Y. - The tip-off was the sunglasses.

A New Yorker faces a $135 traffic fine for using a mannequin as her "plus one" in the high-occupancy vehicle lane of the Long Island Expressway.

An alert sheriff's deputy on Long Island became suspicious this week when he saw the "passenger" wearing sunglasses and using the visor. The problem: The sky was overcast

Did this cop really pull this person over because the passenger was wearing sunglasses? I've seen poeple inside the mall, and supermarket with shades down. Where are the cops then. What if this passenger was just sensitive to light? Then the cop wouldn't have been a commuter lane hero, but lost his job. We should just do away with commuter lane anyways 95% of people drive to work alone and then there is just this lane calling our names with no traffic but we can't drive in it. RIDICULOUS is what that is
