Suspected thief flees into police station

RIVERTON, Wyo. - Police say a man suspected of stealing a bottle of Schnapps from a Wyoming grocery store didn't have the best escape route planned.

Riverton police say the 26-year-old ran out of the store after grabbing the bottle of booze and a package of cough drops Wednesday and hid in a nearby building, which happened to be the police station.

Police say the man then ran out of the police station, but not before a dispatcher had spied him on the station's surveillance camera and alerted officers.

The man, who police say was drunk, was caught soon after. He was taken into custody on preliminary charges of resisting arrest and shoplifting.

This story would take place in the great state of Wyoming. This is one of the few states left where you can drive a car and all your passengers can legally drink. T his guy was clearly with his buddy all day drinking and driving around town. They ran out of booze, but spent all their money on gas. So they did what all of us have done before I'm sure.(when we weren't 21). Run into liquor store and run out. Drunk idiot runs into police station, may as well call them and turn yourself in. Is it really worth it stealing schnapps if your going to rob them rob them with some class.

Drunk driver had 49 children in 16-seat taxi

JOHANNESBURG - A South African minibus taxi driver five times over the legal blood alcohol limit at breakfast time was arrested on Wednesday for transporting 49 children in a 16-seat vehicle.

The 26-year-old man was pulled over at a routine check-point in KwaZulu-Natal province, where traffic officials found the children, aged between three and 13, crammed on top of each other for the morning ride to school.

"The man is now behind bars," Colin Govender of the Road Traffic Inspectorate said. The driver is due to appear in court on Thursday.

well this guy knows how to do it! The taxi holds 16 with 49 kids that is four trips. Now no one wants to drive drunk back and fourth four times. You load up the car and take your chances. Plus this must be a huge savings on gas. Also when was drunk driving illegal in Africa. Don't they got more serious things to worry about, like GENOCIDE. Mark my words if I lived in Africa I would be Drunk 365 days a year.
